Students will need to form groups of 3 or 4. They will need to research and discuss the tenets of this court case that is still being decided by the U.S. Supreme Court. When students are done researching the components of this case they will need to discuss and draft an opinion on this court case.
As a group, students need to write a case opinion on what they believe the outcomes of this case should be.
Case opinions must be at least 3 paragraphs long (about 1 page single spaced) and must include:
A decision on this case as an answer the Supreme Court Questions below. Think of this as your thesis.
A logically laid out argument that supports your decision. With multiple forms of evidence which must include at least:
a. One Supreme Court Case we have studied in class this semester.
b. One Supreme Court Case we have not discussed this semester.
c. The U.S. Constitution
Use reasoning to explain why your evidence supports your decision, claim or thesis.
Lastly, respond to an opposing or alternative perspective using refutation, concession, or rebuttal.
Finally, if anyone in your group disagrees with the majority opinion, they must draft a 1+ paragraph dissenting opinion to be turned in with the majority opinion. ·
